Neuma Announces the Release of CM+ Version 5.3

Ottawa - February 9, 2005 - Neuma Technology, provider of advanced solutions to manage the automation of the software development lifecycle, announced today the availability of CM+ Release 5.3 for Windows, Linux and UNIX platforms. CM+ 5.3 is a third generation Enterprise Software Configuration Management tool that enhances the productivity of everyone on the software development team. CM+ combines a tightly integrated and extendable suite of applications in a common repository driven by the high performance STS architecture.

With CM+ 5.3, Neuma focuses on further enhancing the designer's experience with active workspace management and ease-of-use features.

Most of the features in Release 5.3 stem from customer requests. "The CM+ solution is a full generation ahead of most solutions on the market, and the rock-solid STS architecture is nowhere near saturated. We can add features and respond very quickly to customer requests without pushing the limits of our technology," says Paul Bérubé, Neuma's Director of CM+ Product Engineering.

CM+ offers the most advanced configuration management features in the industry, with true parallel stream development, automated branching, change based promotion and automated configuration alignment. "Our customers wanted to push advanced CM features down to their team-leads, who are beginning to take charge of entire development cycles," adds Paul, "With multi-product management, and product-centric build tracking, our customers could set up small, flexible work-teams, while enforcing a unified global process, and total project visibility."

Active Workspace Management and Update Subtree are two new features that let developers work independently, yet still maintain control over their changes. In a single operation, Update Subtree encapsulates all file and structural changes in a developer's workspace and places them in a change package. Active Workspace Management enhances the standard file system view with CM information about the files found in the workspace. "We wanted to give developers more freedom, but without the overhead common to so many other tools," says Joe Farah, Neuma's President and CEO, "The idea with CM+ is to provide the best functionality while reducing complexity."

CM+ Release 5.3 is a free upgrade to all Neuma customers currently covered by a maintenance agreement. An evaluation copy of the Professional edition can be downloaded from Neuma's web site.
